Postcard – Rice Fields of Thailand

Rice Fields near Pai in Thailand

Rice Fields near Pai in Thailand

When I was driving around Thailand on my motorbike, I saw a lot of rice fields. And I quite like rice fields. They just always seem so serene. Just views that make you want to go and sit down and just look at it. This photo I took on my road trip to Pai. When I saw this, I just knew I had to stop for a photo, which did happen quite a few times on that road trip if I’m honest.

And this photo will also start a new series on my blog I’m calling Friday postcard! Which is pretty much what it  says on the tin. Something to hopefully cheer up your Friday and make your mind wander…

Which country has the most beautiful rice fields in your opinion?

  1. Beautiful photo! I too really like rice fields, got to see some incredible rice fields in Bali.

  2. Always loved how green and lusy rice paddies in South East Asia are. Makes for some great photos.

    • They are pretty amazing! Such good places for photos

  3. Rice field views are really lovely. There are also lots of rice fields in the Philippines and I always take photos of them whenever I travel. I guess you should also try visiting our country. :)

    • I’ve been to Philippines for three weeks, but didn’t go to see the rice terraces that time. Definitely need to come back there to check them out!

  4. I’m a fan of rice paddy fields too– I have such a fascination with the farming. And Pai’s countryside is just gorgeous. I stopped for pics there in the hope of seeing farmers. Eventually in Bali I found farmers working the fields, cutting and shucking the stalks and spent some time filming them. Nice postcard!

    • Yeah rice fields really are beautiful. I often need to stop and take photos. Lucky you finding some people working in the fields, must be great photos!

  5. Certainly worthy of being a postcard, Jarmo! With their beauty, rice paddies are pretty hard to take your eyes off of; good thing you didn’t let it distract you while motorcycling!

    • I love rice paddies, such beautiful views. Yeah, I didn’t let it distract me too much :) one of us did crash his bike maybe an hour before that photo, but that was on the mountains not among the rice paddies.
