me and my snowboard, err, sandboard
I’m a nomad, an expat, wannabe minimalist, globetrotter, techie, hippie vagabond and I have a passion for travel and photography in case you hadn’t figured it out yet. Oh, and the name is Jarmo, nice to meet you!
While I originally appeared into civilization from that arctic desert sometimes called Finland where the snow never melts; the penguins and polar bears roam freely on the frozen roads; and darkness rules in the endless cold night. Okay, maybe it isn’t quite as bad as that, but it’s still pretty damn cold in the winter. However these days I’ve set up my tent in London.
For years I have been promising people to put my photos somewhere on the Interwebs, but those promises went unfilled until late 2010 when I finally decided to set up a blog for my round-the-world trip in 2011. So here we are now.
About the Site
While the sites original purpose was to be a place for me to upload photos from my 2011 RTW trip and previous trips, it has now expanded from that purpose as other readers besides my family and friends have found the site. The focus at the moment is my current trip, but I also plan on focusing writing more travel advice and other random rants in the future, so stay tuned.
About the Photos
While I try to travel as light as possible, my passion for photography is unfortunately a heavy one. For that purpose I do carry a Canon EOS 550D camera with the kit lens and a Tokina 11-16mm lens, which I absolutely love. I started the trip with a Canon EOS 450D, but that was stolen in Peru, so for a few months all the photos came from my trusted old ixus, which has since sadly passed away when a waterproof bag turned out to be not quite so waterproof.
Easiest way to contact me is to send me a message through the Contact Form on the site
